52nd Annual International Curling Tankard

As the youngest member of the Cowichan Rocks Curling Club, Jaxon was invited to throw the ceremonial first rock at the International Curling Tankard in Lake Cowichan on March 8, 2014.

What is this tournament really about?
Read this article to find out more!

Here's a brief summary from the local newspaper:
Waiting upstairs for the last game to finish before the ceremony.
Marching in with the dignitaries!
In the hack, ready to curl.
I think the onlookers didn't expect much ...
Such concentration.
It was a perfect throw!
The Mountie requested a photo with the wee skip.
The same Mountie helped the skip's Mom get her
car un-stuck from some slick snow a few weeks ago.
Thank you kindly, Cst. Grant Desmet.
Celebratory lunch at Timmies.
Such a special day for us, and made even more-so by the friends and family who came to cheer him on! Thanks Oma, Burdges and Miss Kelly Watt.

(He curled it really suddenly so I wasn't quite ready with the video.)

And here's what the front page of the Lake Cowichan Gazette looked like today ...
