Jaxon was inspired to make a cactus, from what he
learned about Mexico at Community Class this term.

He also made a cardboard frisbee, all on his own.
The colours are from his thumbs on stamp pads.

The boys were each given a 3-in-1 Lego set at a Christmas
party. They all built them independently (Jaxon had a little help from me), with great speed and accuracy. Max's set is an eagle, scorpion or spider - each with moving components.

 

Marty and Jaxon's sets are both various

types of vehicles. Jaxon spent his birthday

money to buy another set for himself, and there

will be several more sets under the tree this week.

All three boys took part in the nativity play at church.

Max and Marty were shepherds, then Max was a drummer boy,

then they were "Wise Men". They did a very basic drama and

sang four songs with the other elementary kids. Jaxon was a

star who took part in three songs. 

Remember Max's fascination with drawing Peanuts cartoons?

It's been sparked again, this time with Calvin & Hobbes.

He's been working diligently on his copying, and has

added colour to a few as well.

Please notice Max's signature at the bottom of the first sneeze drawing. He's started to learn the cursive aspect of the Getty-Dubay program, and likes practicing.

I asked if the last one (bottom R) is Calvin being chased by his Dad. He blushed a bit and said, "That's his Mom. I need to work on my people drawings".

Drum concert! 

Each boy drummed for two minutes to a song of their choosing. We all look forward to these performances. Though Marty and Jax have both performed before, this was the first concert that they have both had regular weekly lessons. They share a 15-minute lesson. Usually Marty takes the 10-minute portion, until he clued in that Jaxon got 10 minutes of game time on my phone during Marty's lesson.  They've been switching back and forth, sharing the longer lesson/screen times.
