My kids

No, it's not about my kids. Silly you. It's about Max's kids.

He had a brief imaginary friend relationship around this time last year. It was very superficial. All they did was talk on the phone. It's not like they were Facebook friends or anything.

We heard about James for a few weeks but nothing much since. Recently Max has been talking about his kids. He takes them to school, he teaches them school, he makes food for them, he plays with them, he puts them to bed. One is a boy named Isaac. The other is a boy named Isaac. This morning as we drove away from church, Max informed us that he did not take his kids to church today. "I did not take Isaac and I did not take the other Isaac." I suspect that his new imaginary friends have been inspired by our recent visit with his real friend Isaac.

Here they are a year ago when we lived in Prince Rupert.

And this past January when we visited PR.

We also had a chat with him on Saturday about how many kids we should have. (And NO! this is not a hint at or even a thinly veiled pregnancy announcement!) We asked Max how many kids he thought we should have.

Five!

Five? Wow. How many boys?

Five.

And how many girls?

Five.

So, we should have ten kids?

Nooooooooo! Five.

Not sure how his plan would come together on that one. We have our own hopes and dreams for that.

  2. can't tell you how special i feel that i am 'invited' to take a peek into your life! OK--so, maybe its a sign that Max is getting ready to one day meet Isaac Burdge? In one of those pictures of the 2 boys at the fireplace, isaac looks like the boy on the left!! Weird! Max looks like alot of fun.

  5. How great it is that he's got that paternal instinct from the get go - he'll make a fabulous Daddy one day.

  6. Cade is currently fascinated with breast-feeding his dolls. And of course, brother follows suit. So we have 3 lactating people in our house.
    Lucky for Des!
