Marty's Birthday

You might be wondering why we've let our dear boy's first birthday come and go with little fanfare. Not to worry, we had a mini family celebration on his birthday last Monday and are having a bunch of youth kids over tomorrow for sushi and cake. Most of our favourites were away for the long weekend.

Marty's birthday was a quiet day at home, Paul celebrated with a round of golf. He even went by himself because he just couldn't pass up the sunshine and his golfing days are numbered. After dinner we went in search of ice cream. We couldn't figure out why everything was closed. Things close early here but it seemed awfully strange. Then we remembered it was Victoria Day. Duh. So we settled for packaged ice cream from the corner store and headed to the high school grass to enjoy the sunshine, weather, and treats.

Strolling the boardwalk - no ice cream there.

As big as a fire hydrant.

Treats

Marty didn't partake, he'll get his first taste of the good stuff tomorrow. (Although I must confess I gave him a chocolate chip cookie a few weeks ago at Safeway because he was entirely miserable. He was good until the cookie was all gone.)

  2. That looks like the perfect birthday! Aiden is looking at Max with the ice cream and saying, "Aiden, aiden, aiden...." you get the point! Very sweet pics and what great weather.
