Home again, home again

We came home earlier than planned from our little holiday. We actually didn't know how long we'd stay but we came home today so Paul could get the trailer in to be fixed tomorrow. We had a nice little time on the Island. Nothing spectacular, just enjoying each other and all the things for curious little boys to explore at Oma's house. There were a few people I wanted to see that we didn't get to so I'll plan to see them when I go back over there in early August. No pictures yet from our trip but they will come eventually.

We went down to Duncan to visit my Grandpa today, which was very nice. This was the first time he met Marty. We got some pretty cute pictures of the occasion. We were aiming to catch the 4:00 ferry but were pleasantly surprised to almost drive right on to the 3:00 sailing. Very nice, no waiting. That came later. It took us an hour and a half to get from the ferry terminal to Coquitlam! What a drag. Marty was none too pleased to be going so slowly, so we decided to take a break at Ikea. We strolled through and picked up only a very few things, had a snack, and hit the road again. Max stayed awake for this leg of the journey but Marty fell asleep and transferred to his playpen at home with no protest. Max took a while to settle in again, everything here is still so new. Our landlord and his grandchildren trotted across the cul-de-sac just a few minutes after we arrived to bring us a bowl of big fat blueberries. He's a very sweet man.

So we're now in the final stretch before Paul takes off on August 1. Lots more to do to get settled into our house, endless potential for people to visit, finally checking out our new church, and a few planned get-togethers. Our tenants are eager to move in next week, and we are so thrilled with them.

Hhmmm, about those blueberries ...
