No middle names
In response to Jen's comment on my last post, I thought I'd make a new post for the sake of my readers' interest. (I gotta keep you coming back!) When Max was born we chose not to give him a middle name. His full name, Maximilian, is a family name from Paul's Dad's family. Since neither my Dad or my Grandpa have middle names, we gave Max no middle name, in honour of them. We stuck to the trend with Marty so Max won't be the only one with no middle name. If a girl ever comes along, she will have a middle name. A lovely one, I'm sure.

Are you planning on having another? My girlfriend just found out she's VERY unexpectedly pregnant with her third! Her big concern at the moment is that they'll have to get a bigger vehicle!

ReplyDeleteThe "Marty Singh" is a cute story! We've picked out "Davin" for a boy's name, partly for Des' friend Davinder. We just couldn't go with the full Sikh name, though! (Oh! That's on the QT, we're keeping the names low profile until it's time!!)
that's a neat tradition to pass on...we find boys names so hard to agree on- both matt and i have names we love, we just don't love the same ones! maybe i should give that idea to him if we have a boy- since his family tradition is that boys have two middle names- how are we ever to come up with three names!

Teresa - that's another reason we didnt' want a middle name, boy names are so hard to come up with. Why use two on one kid?
ReplyDeleteMegan - We're in no rush for another anytime soon, but would like 2 more. That same thing happened to my girlfriend. She thought she wanted 4 but when #3 came along just 16 months after #2, she's rethinking that plan.
