We have loved ones who will be up in the air on Sunday. Russ & Carmen leave for the first leg of their journey to Indonesia. What an adventure!
My folks are trying to come home from Japan but had to change their plans as no flights are leaving Nagoya due to bad weather. They had the option to take the bullet train in hopes of catching their flight in Tokyo but decided to wait it out another day. Taking the bullet train to Tokyo would require 4 transfers, made while carrying all of their luggage! That didn't sound very pleasant for them so they stay'll one more night with Colin & Kelly and try again tomorrow. That's why they bought the cancellation insurance!
I had a good chat with niece Kristen tonight, and am getting more excited to go visit them over Spring Break. Just over 2 months!
We're off for a few days this week for a little family holiday. We'll be staying at a very cute 2 bdrm log cabin in Smithers. Having still not found Max's boots, we'll be stopping in Terrace to fetch some and maybe a toboggan. Smithers has a Canadian Tire. We're very excited about that. We just might go every day. Likely not, but we could if we really wanted to. We're looking forward to just being together, watching the boys play, enjoying the winter weather, and no internet!
Speaking of watching the boys play - they're really starting to get into it! If Max gets too close to Marty, he'll grab him, and squeal in delight at his success. Tonight Marty was on the floor on his back and Max gave him a "hug". I'd say it was their first official wrestling match - and the baby won! It ended with Max retreating when Marty pulled his hair and sucked on his face. Good times. It's getting pretty fun.
Pray for Baby Samuel and H.K., as he's not been a happy boy. They suspect a milk protien allergy and reflux issues - not fun stuff for a 6-week old (or his mommy).
That is so exciting about the boys playing together!! I cant wait until Aiden and Caileigh are doing that. Have a blast on your retreat get away!!
ReplyDeleteA retreat sounds like fun for two busy people like you. Have fun, savor it, and refresh yourselves.
ReplyDeleteI loved you account of the first wrestling match - gives a whole new meaning to "Suck face". You sound like a great mom and dad, I don't think we were as patient back in the days when dinosaurs roamed and baby boomers flourished. Blessings on your time away from internet. Enjoy Canadian Tire!!
Have a great time on your family weekend away! :) Take lots of pictures!
ReplyDeleteOoo Canadian Tire... ;)
Oh H.K., if you are reading this... I will pray for you. I wish'd you had a better transition this time with baby.
ReplyDeleteYou've hit the 6 week mark, that's a start!
Bless you dear!
